Every year, our family at Adopted Acres Soap Co. travels to Lake Norman, North Carolina. It is our opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life, slow down, reconnect, and enjoy a much-needed interlude.

Those yearly trips also give us the chance to spend time with our great friend Aaron Watson, better known throughout the wet-shaving community as Tar Heel Wet Shaver, and his family. Aaron and I can talk wet shaving for hours, but the friendship goes far beyond soaps, razors, and brushes. It represents one of the greatest gifts this hobby has given us: genuine friendships that grow into family.

Lakeside Interlude is a tribute to that special place, those treasured friendships, and the quiet moments that allow us to rest before returning to life.

The Scent

Lakeside Interlude combines the crisp, outdoorsy character of Lakeside Pine with the smooth, airy warmth of Iso E Super and the deep, smoky richness of an Amouage Interlude-inspired fragrance.

It opens with the fresh green character of pine trees surrounding the lake. As the scent develops, warm woods, resins, smoke, amber, and spice begin to emerge. Iso E Super ties everything together with a smooth, diffusive woodiness that gives the fragrance added depth without burying its fresh lakeside character.

The result is bold, atmospheric, and comforting—a peaceful lakeside retreat touched by smoke, woods, and warm evening air.

Grand Champion Performance—Now in a Pump

Lakeside Interlude introduces our new 3.4 oz Pump Shave Soap.

We developed this formula to provide the rich lather, protection, glide, and post-shave conditioning you expect from our Grand Champion 2.0 tub soap, now delivered in a clean and convenient pump.

A small amount produces a dense, creamy lather with excellent cushion and residual slickness. The pump makes loading simple, eliminates the need to scoop soap from a tub, and is especially convenient for travel or daily use.

Just dispense the desired amount into a shaving bowl or directly onto a damp brush, gradually add water, and build the lather to your preferred consistency.

Refill bags are currently in development, allowing you to keep and reuse the pump bottle while reducing packaging waste.

Directions

Lakeside Interlude can be used with a shaving brush or completely brushless.

For a full three-pass shave, I recommend starting with 2–3 pumps—but I’ll be the first to admit that I like to load heavy! Many shavers will find that 1–2 pumps provide more than enough soap.

With a Brush

Dispense the soap into a shaving bowl, directly onto a damp brush, or apply it straight to your wet face. Gradually add water and work the soap into a dense, glossy, well-hydrated lather.

Brushless

Apply the soap directly to your wet face and massage it over the skin with your hands. Add small amounts of water as needed until you achieve a smooth, creamy layer with plenty of slickness and protection.

Shave as usual and rinse thoroughly.
